Giroud has been restricted to a bit-part role this season, with Sanchez deployed through the middle instead
Arsene Wenger is keeping his cards close to his chest about who will spearhead Arsenal ‘s attack on Wednesday night.
Olivier Giroud has been restricted to a bit-part role this season, playing second fiddle to Alexis Sanchez .
However, Wenger has revealed how he will decide who lines up against Paris Saint-Germain at the Emirates.
He said: “The thinking is that they are different styles of players. That dictates a different style to us as well.
“The shape and form of the players at the moment, the hunger… it’s a mixture of many ingredients that go through your mind and then you make your decision.
“My job is to select and decide, and that is the same every week.”
Sanchez tops Arsenal’s scoring charts this season with eight goals, but Giroud came off the bench to earn the Gunners a point in Saturday’s draw at Manchester United.
Wenger’s men have already qualified for the Champions League knockouts and the French frontman could be given the nod.
“He is not forever on the bench. He will play games,” Wenger added.
“I have only good players and every week I leave top players on the bench. I rotate a little bit.
“I have not decided (whether he will start vs PSG).”
