Atalanta sack Ivan Juric over poor season results

Atalanta have sacked head coach, Ivan Juric, after just 11 matches of the 2025-26 Serie A season, following a 3-0 home defeat to newly-promoted Sassuolo on Sunday.

Juric, who was appointed over the summer as the successor to long-serving Atalanta manager, Gian Piero Gasperini, leaves the club in 13th place, having recorded only two league wins from 11 matches.

La Dea have struggled in recent weeks, losing their last two league games after a run of six consecutive draws, collecting just six points from their last eight Serie A outings.

“Atalanta BC announces that Ivan Juric has been relieved of his duties as head coach of the first team, along with his closest staff members, Matteo Paro, Miguel Veloso, Pablo Barbero, Stjepan Ostojic, and Michele Orecchio.

“Atalanta thanks Ivan Juric and his staff for their efforts and wishes them all the best for the future,” the club said in a statement on Monday.

Sporting Tribune reports that Juric had been informed that his performances in the last two matches, against Marseille in the Champions League and Sassuolo in Serie A, would determine his future at the club.

While Atalanta won against Marseille, Juric made headlines for a heated touchline exchange with Nigerian International, Ademola Lookman.

The 3-0 defeat to Sassuolo ultimately made his position untenable.
