ATLETICO Madrid are pushing to sign £50million-rated Lyon striker Alexandre Lacazette this summer, according to reports in France.
L’Equipe claims that concrete and advanced negotiations are ongoing between the spanish team and the relevant parties involved in the prospective deal.
The report claims Lacazette himself is ready to make the move to the Estadio Vicente Calderon – where he could line up alongside his friend Antoine Griezmann.
Details of a four or five-year contract have already been drawn up and the Spanish club apparently see Lacazette’s arrival as part of their plan to persuade Griezmann to stay on.
Lyon are holding out for £50million for the 25-year-old forward, who has scored 24 Ligue 1 goals this season.
Les Gones are now unlikely to qualify for the Champions League next season after losing 4-1 to Ajax in the Europa League semi-final first leg.
