Aubameyang may join Real Madrid —Dortmund CEO

Borussia Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke has admitted that his club could be prone to losing star striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

The Gabon international has been linked with a move to Real Madrid, openly admitting they are his “dream club”.

And Watzke has revealed the Germans would enter into talks with Madrid if they are to show concrete interest in the 27-year-old, but said a deal is by no means an easy feat.

“If Real Madrid come knocking, we will talk, but it isn’t going to be easy,” he told Sky Germany.

“The transfer won’t be automatic.”

Dortmund have lost a host of star players in recent seasons including Robert Lewandowski and former Captain Mats Hummels to rivals Bayern Munich.

Watzke says that Aubameyang remains a key part of the Dortmund team and remains a required player.

“We want him to stay with us. Unlike other players that left us recently, Aubameyang has a long contract that he has extended until 2020,” he added.

“There is absolutely no pressure [to sell him]. I also don’t have the impression that he would like to go.”
