Borussia Dortmund forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang says he is looking forward to the Golden Boot race throughout the season, with FC Cologne’s Anthony Modeste currently leading the way.
“It’s not just [Robert] Lewandowski now but also Modeste, and I like that,” he added.
“At the same time, it’s good for me because it means I’m under pressure and I’ve got to work even harder.”
He is also hopeful the return of German international Marco Reus can help spark the club to life this season.
Dortmund currently find themselves sitting in sixth place, already six points off leaders Bayern Munich.
And the Gabon international says Reus’ return is set to come at the right time.
“It’s a good sign that he’s back training again,” Aubameyang told the Bundesliga website.
“We need Marco.
“I sent him a message not long ago, telling him to keep believing in himself. I also told him personally how important his return is for the whole team.
“Not just me, but the team, the club – everybody’s standing behind him. We all hope he’ll be back on the field soon.”
