Taiwo Awoniyi
Nigeria junior international Taiwo Awoniyi has revealed he longed for his first goal for KAA Gent and was delighted he got it in last night’s UEFA Europa League win over Jagiellonia Bialystok.
Awoniyi, who is on loan from Liverpool, set the tone for a 3-1 win when he opened scoring after 13 minutes.
He was delighted with his effort.
“I’ve been looking forward to it for a long time,” Awoniyi told Voetbalkrant

“I am really happy, not only because of that goal, but also because of the victory.”
He celebrated the goal by displaying a message ‘Only God saves’.
“Only God can save you, only he decides the future of everyone, if you believe in him, he will watch over you,” he said while crediting divine help for his heroics.
“But of course, you cannot just sleep in your home and expect great things.”
