The club statement is part of “the maximum respect to the will for the majority of the Catalan citizens to decide their future.”
“We are more than a club. And, therefore, we must support our people in the difficult circumstances in which we find ourselves. Consequently we have jined the Indpendent Commission for Mediation, Dialog and Conciliation, led by the Barcelona Bar Association,” said the Catalan club.
Barcelona ensure that “together with other organisations of civil society” they want to help “build bridges of dialogue which help to resolve the conflict in an agreed and peaceful way,” because “people understand speaking.”
“FC Barcelona also demands respect. As an institution committed to the values of dialogue and coexistence, we believe that any public demonstration should contribute to the introduction of a necessary dialogue, while always respecting the freedom of speech of the citizens of Catalonia,” said the statement delivered by the Bartomeu.
The ‘Azulgrana’ club believes that in order to emerge from the current crisis, “the involvement of everyone is essential, from our sense of responsibility and from our social function.”
“In our case, we will defend the demand for this dialogue, institutionally wherever it is necessary, and on the sporting front, competing in our various disciplines. And, as always, aspiring to win every title,” insisted the club.
“It will be our way of explaining to everyone the reality which Catalonia is living, and reneweing our commitment to its society and to its freedoms, a commitment to which Barca has been loyal to throughout the 118 yers of its history,” concluded the club statement.
