Barcelona midfielder Rafinha could be offered to Arsenal to secure the signing of right-back Hector Bellerin.
Rafinha, 24, started just 14 La Liga fixtures last season and is keen on a move away from the Camp Nou in search of more playing time.
The Brazilian, whose style of play appeals greatly to Wenger, is valued at £26 million, and could be the perfect bargaining chip to ensure the return of Barcelona’s academy product.
