BASTIAN Schweinsteiger swaps the pitch for the catwalk as he tries his hand at modelling for Chicago’s Soccer & Style annual fashion show.

Schweinsteiger is not one to shirk an invitation, with the midfielder regularly seen at showbiz events alongside his celebrity wife Ana Ivanovic.

This week, though, he took it a step further and actually played a part in a fashion show in Chicago, strutting his stuff on the catwalk.

He even stopped for a selfie with one fan as the crowd enjoyed his performance in Chicago

All in the name of charity, the Chicago Fire player dressed up in a number of different Banana Republic outfits to wow the crowd at the Soccer & Style Fashion Show.

A number of the club’s players lined up for the event, which was being staged for the fifth year and raises money for the Chicago Fire Foundation.

Schweinsteiger laughed his way down the runway as the crowd lapped up his efforts, and the German even stopped for a selfie with a fan during one of his walks.

The midfielder left Manchester United to head to MLS in March, and seems to be settling well into his new life in the Windy City.

Earlier this week, he tried his hand at baseball to throw the ceremonial first pitch ahead of Chicago Cubs’ clash with Philadelphia Phillies.

He has also previously been seen at the city’s ice hockey team Chicago Blackhawks, and their basketball team Chicago Bulls with his wife Ivanovic.

She too has immersed herself in the culture, having now retired from a successful tennis career.
