Nigeria’s captain Mikel Obi has said that the major asset of Zambia remain their attacking power, just as he expressed confidence in the ability of the Super Eagles defence to do the needful.
Red-hot Zambia, who scored four goals in their last two games against Algeria clash with the Super Eagles tomorrow in a 2018 World Cup qualifier at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo.
“From the coach to us, the players, we are not taking the game lightly as we all know how important the game is to our qualification for the World Cup,” the Tianjin TEDA of China star said while speaking during the media conference in Uyo on Thursday.
Mikel also expressed confidence in the attack of the Eagles who scored five goals in thire last two games against Cameroon’s Indomitable as well as the team’s defence to bank on in tomorrow’s decisive clash with Zambia.
“We are motivated to go all out to win. We’ve been watching videos and also monitoring them to know their strong points and their [Zambia] weaknesses as well.
“Their attack is their strongest point but we have a good defence now to stop them. And we have a strong attack of our own,” Mikel said.
Meanwhile, the Chipolopolo arrived in Uyo on Thursday ahead of tomorrow’s game.
The Zambian contingent landed at the Ibom International Airport, Uyo, at about 3.45pm aboard a Dana Airlines flight, after spending a night in Abuja.
It will be recalled that Zambia who are second on the table with seven points trained in Ghana for three days before heading for Nigeria for the clash with the Super Eagles who lead the table with 10 points.
