Bayern chiefs dispute Nagelsmann’s claim of no contact before sacking

Bayern Munich’s decision to replace head coach Julian Nagelsmann with Thomas Tuchel has been the subject of much scrutiny, and now it has been revealed that Nagelsmann may have missed calls from the club’s chiefs while on a skiing holiday prior to his dismissal.

According to reports, Nagelsmann was enjoying a skiing trip in Austria when he missed calls from Bayern’s club chiefs, who were trying to contact him about his role. This news comes after Nagelsmann’s management team claimed that Bayern made no attempt to contact him before his sacking.

However, Bayern’s chiefs, Hasan Salihamidzic, and Oliver Kahn, dispute this and claim they tried to contact Nagelsmann multiple times after Tuchel accepted the position.

According to a report, Salihamidzic contacted Tuchel to discuss the managerial role at Bayern, and Tuchel immediately agreed to take charge.

Over the next two days, Tuchel’s advisor negotiated his contract with the Bayern bosses until late on Thursday evening. That same evening, BILD was tipped off about Nagelsmann’s impending departure from Bayern, but when they reached out to the club, they received no response.

It was later revealed that Nagelsmann was unreachable during his skiing holiday, which is why Bayern’s chiefs could not contact him. When Nagelsmann finally picked up the phone, he was told to return to Germany from his holiday and meet with Kahn and Salihamidzic. The following day, he was informed of his dismissal from the club.

Nagelsmann’s departure from Bayern shocked the football world, and he has since emerged as a contender to replace Graham Potter at Chelsea. However, some speculate that he may not be interested in taking on a new job so soon after his dismissal from Bayern.

Regardless, Nagelsmann is viewed by many at Stamford Bridge as the strongest candidate to replace Potter. Meanwhile, Tottenham is also said to be interested in hiring Nagelsmann to replace Antonio Conte.
