Riyad Mahrez was crowned the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2016
Nominees for the BBC African Footballer of the Year 2017 will be unveiled today.
According to information from the British Broadcasting Corporation, the five nominees will revealed in front of a live audience at the BBC headquarters in London.
The ceremony, to be attended by footballers from across the African continent, will take place at 1800GMT.
Some of these include former African Footballer of the Year, Emmanuel Amuneke; Cameroon midfielder Arnaud Djoum and Ugandan national female team player, Jean Sseninde, who plays club football for Crystal Palace Ladies FC.
The BBC African Footballer of the Year award is given out annually by the BBC to the winner from votes cast by fans. After the unveiling of the nominees on Saturday, fans will have the opportunity to vote fortheir candidates between 1900 GMT on Saturday, November 11 and 1800 GMT bon November 27.
The winner will be announced on December 11. Algerian player, Riyad Mahrez, was the winner of the 2016 edition.
Other former winners of the BBC African Footballer of the Year award include Austine Okocha, Didier Drogba, Yaya Toure and George Weah.
