Blame Moses for Eagles’ loss ―Dixon, Arsenal legend

The first game at the World cup is always about winning to brighten chances of progressing to the last sixteen but Nigeria were beaten 2-0 by Croatia due to their sloppy defending.

Arsenal legend Lee Dixon had question marks about the performance of Chelsea wing-back Victor Moses, saying he was too nonchalant despite the Super Eagles trailing by two goals.

Speaking in his post-match analysis, Dixon said: ”Roy said when we watched the game that it was like a friendly, it was like a practice match, they won’t get anything from this.

”Even in the end, Moses was kicking the ball out in the corner flag, he was 2-0 down. It was a bizarre performance for me, no effort or endeavor to try and get any point.”

Following the defeat against Croatia, it means Nigeria must win their next game on Friday against Iceland to stand a chance of making it out of the group.

Moses went the distance against Croatia in his third World Cup appearance.
