Boost for Chelsea as Palmieri claims he’s fit after a long layoff

Chelsea new boy Emerson Palmieri has claimed he can’t wait to get started at the club, and any worries over his injury layoff are long gone.

He obviously passed a medical with the club, and made it clear he feels physically fit, and knows that the future is bright for him under Antonio Conte.

He made it clear that not only does he want to play under the Chelsea manager, but that he thinks he will settle in well at the club, already having friends there.

“Yes, physically I feel great,” he told the club’s official website.

“The injury is now in the past, they were six difficult months for me but what is important is right now I feel good.

“I couldn’t feel better so I only have in mind the idea of training with my team and helping us to achieve more.

“Now I am definitely going to improve here at Chelsea under Antonio Conte.

“He is someone who has already shown that he is a great coach and everyone who plays with him improves, so I am coming to Chelsea with this perspective, that I am going to be playing with one of the best coaches in the world and I am going to get better.

“Of course that is something that is going to help me settle in better.

“The fact there is an Italian coach, the fact that I know some of the players, of course that is going to help.”

Another player Chelsea are looking to bring in before the window closes is Olivier Giroud, with the forward thought to be leaving Arsenal and joining the Blues imminently.

After confirmation that BVB forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang was set to join Arsenal, it seems that the deal that will take Antonio Conte’s least favourite player, Michy Batshuayi to BVB is now in place, with the player pictured having a medical, leaving the way clear for Giroud to move across London to Chelsea.
