In a boost to their hopes of finishing in the top four of the Premier League, Manchester United midfielder Christian Eriksen has recovered ahead of schedule from an ankle injury.
Despite being sidelined since late January after a tackle from Andy Carroll during an FA Cup victory over second-division Reading, the Denmark international will be suiting up Saturday when United hosts Everton, according to manager Erik ten Hag.

Eriksen, who had become a key figure under Ten Hag, has made 31 appearances this season before sustaining the injury. Ten Hag expressed his satisfaction at Eriksen’s return, saying that the injury had been worse than anticipated and that they feared he would be out for the entire season.
Manchester United is currently tied on points with Newcastle, who has a superior goal differential, and is three points ahead of Tottenham, sitting in fifth place.
