Brazil announce World Cup squad as Dani Alves misses out

Brazil have announced their 23-man squad for Russia 2018 World Cup.

The Samba stars are among the favourites to life the trophy in Russia this summer.

As expected, Dani Alves misses the tournament through injury but his Paris Saint-Germain teammate Neymar is included.

He is recovering from a foot injury that ended his season prematurely as his club were crowned league champions.

There are six players from the Premier League included in the squad, including four from champions Manchester City.

Goalkeepers: Alisson, Ederson, Cassio

Defenders: Fagner, Danilo, Marcelo, Filipe Luis, Marquinhos, Miranda, Thiago Silva, Geromel

Midfielders: Casemiro, Fernandinho, Fred, Paulinho, Philippe Coutinho, Renato Augusto, Willian

Forwards: Douglas Costa, Firmino, Gabriel Jesus, Neymar, Taison
