Brightville College, Ashi Ibadan on Thursday qualified for the zonal round of this year’s National Principal’s Cup after defeating Abadina College 4-1 in the final match played at the Abadina Primary School football Pitch.
The match was watched by the President General of Nigeria Football Supporters Club. Dr Rafiu Ladipo, SportsMinistry officials both from state and the federal.
Speaking after the match, the Proprietor of the school, Dr Issac Friday said Brightville have not achieved their aim of the competition yet until they claim the National Principals Cup title.
“As a matter of fact, we are looking beyond the zonal. our aspiration and focus is at the final in Abuja and we are ready. This is not the first time we will be representing Oyo State, we have done so on a number of occasions, in 2014, we represented the state in the Shell Cup tournament and we got to the final without conceding a single goal and this time, we want to replicate the same thing but get a step further and win the trophy.

“We are seeking for the support of the State Governor, Engineer Seyi Makinde because this is the state team as we are representing Oyo state at the National level.
In 2014 Shell Cup, Brightville got to the final losing narrowly to Edo State representative, St Thomas Basic Secondary School on penalties at the Teslim Balogun Stadium.
Also, Dr Ladipo encouraged the players to give in their best at the zonal round saying they should go back to work on their lapses.
