Gianluigi Buffon
Juventus and Italian legend, Gianluigi Buffon has named his top six goalkeepers in the world, however, the 40-year-old did not name Manchester United’s David de Gea on his list.
Speaking ahead of Juventus’ Champions League tie against Real Madrid on Wednesday evening, Buffon was asked to name the world’s best keepers.
However, the Italian overlooked De Gea, which comes as a surprise considering the Spaniard has been in sensational form for United this season.
The 27-year-old leads the way in the race for the Premier League’s Golden Glove having kept 16 clean sheets in 32 appearances this season.
Buffon instead opted for Man City’s Ederson and Chelsea’s Thibaut Courtois as his Premier League selections.
Buffon said: “Not taking into account Italian keepers, I would say Oblak, Navas, ter Stegen, Ederson, Neuer and Courtois.
“I hope I did not forget anybody.”
