Bukayo Saka named Premier League Player of the Month for March

Arsenal’s Bukayo Saka has been named the Premier League Player of the Month for March 2023. This is the first time the 21-year-old has won the award.

Saka played a crucial role in helping Arsenal win all four of their Premier League games in March. He scored three goals and provided two assists, helping the Gunners extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

Saka’s performances in March have been impressive, and he has been consistent throughout the season. Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland (33) and Tottenham’s Harry Kane (23) have been involved in more Premier League goals than Saka this season (22). He is also the only player to reach double figures for both goals (12) and assists (10) in the competition this term.

The Arsenal forward has been in great form for both club and country. Saka scored a stunning long-range goal for England in their 2-0 victory over Ukraine during the recent international break. This was his second international goal, and it helped England qualify for the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.

Saka beat off competition from Alexander Isak (Real Sociedad), Alexis Mac Allister (Brighton), Tyrone Mings (Aston Villa), Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), and Arsenal teammate Leandro Trossard to win the award. He becomes the second Arsenal player to win the award this season after Martin Odegaard won it in November and December 2022.

Saka’s performances have made him a strong contender for the Premier League Player of the Season award.

He has been an integral part of Arsenal’s success this season, and his contributions have been crucial to the team’s title challenge.
