C/League: Villareal happy to get Juve instead of Man City

Villareal Director, Marcos Senna says the La Liga side ‘respect Juventus’ but admits it’s better to face the Old Lady than Manchester City.

Villareal eliminated Atalanta from the Champions League group stage and will face Juventus in the Round of 16.

They had been paired with Manchester City in the first draw that was declared void by UEFA after ‘a technical problem with the software of an external service provider.’

They were drawn against Juventus in the redraw, with the Bianconeri who shifted from Sporting CP to the so-called Yellow Submarine.

“Compared to the previous draw, the trip and the weather are probably better for Villarreal, but in terms of strength and danger I see no difference between Juventus and Manchester City,” Senna said as quoted by Juventusnews24.

Villareal also reacted to the Champions League draw on social media, posting a video that explains their feeling quite well.

Juventus’ only reaction came from Twitter with the Bianconeri who posted a shocked face emoji while retweeting UEFA’s statements announcing that the first draw had been declared void.
