Call it off: Mourinho slams Zorya and Uefa for ‘bad’ pitch

Jose Mourinho has slammed Zorya Luhansk’s pitch ahead of Manchester United’s Europa League tie on Thursday.

The Portuguese tactician was in an icy mood when facing the press ahead of the clash in Ukraine after testing out the pitch earlier in the day.

Mourinho insisted that Uefa should not allow ties to take place in Luhansk in December and was extremely critical of the ‘bad pitch’.

And when discussing the logistics of the trip to Ukraine, Mourinho could not help having a dig at the conditions.

‘It was very good and calm and everything was fine,’ he said of the trip to Luhansk.

Hotel good, stadium good, pitch bad.

‘It’s very cold.

‘The pitch is hard and icy.’
