The Indomitable Lions of Cameroon defeated their Group A opponent, Burkina Faso in the opening match of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) to start the campaign on a high note with a win.
Burkina Faso star Gustavo Sangare opened the scoring for his side in the 24th minute before Cameroon fought back to win 2-1 in their quest for the title at Olembe Stadium, Yaoundé.
Vincent Aboubakar scored a double through spot-kick before half time to give his side the maximum point.
