Cameroon captain, Benjamin Moukandjo
CAMEROON captain, Benjamin Moukandjo, sees today’s clash with the Super Eagles of Nigeria as a 50-50 affair.
“At this stage, there is nothing like playing at home,’’ the Jiangsu Suning of China striker warned.
“We are the African champions but Nigeria are the group leaders so where is the advantage?
“For me we can beat the Eagles here and they can beat us in Cameroon. There is nothing taken for granted.
“Each player of Cameroon will go out with the mindset of winning the game but we know how hard that will be because the players on the two sides know themselves very well, so we don’t think there is going to be anything easy, either for Nigeria or Cameroon.”
Fabrice Ondoa, who is Cameroon’s first choice keeper, was in goal when Nigeria beat Cameroon 3-0 in an international friendly in London in October 2015 but the Seville of Spain goaltender says this is a different ball game.
“I still remember the game but that is not going to affect me at all. I will try and stop that from happening this time, I have the trust of my country.”
