Cape Verde goalkeeper, Josimar Dias, popularly known as Vozinha, has agreed to join Chilean giants Colo Colo following his standout performances at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The 40-year-old goalkeeper is expected to travel to Chile in the coming days to undergo a medical before completing the move and being officially presented at the Estadio Monumental.
Colo Colo president Aníbal Mosa confirmed the agreement, saying: “Vozinha is going to be a Colo Colo player. In the next few days, he will travel to Chile, undergo the necessary medical examinations, and then be presented here at the Estadio Monumental.”
The Chilean club had earlier teased the move on social media with an image appearing to show the goalkeeper’s trademark curly hair.

Vozinha became one of the breakout stars of the 2026 World Cup after helping Cape Verde make a historic debut at the tournament.
He produced a string of impressive saves in Cape Verde’s goalless draw against eventual champions Spain and continued his strong form against Uruguay and Argentina.
The Blue Sharks reached the Round of 32, where they pushed defending champions Argentina into extra time before losing 3-2.
Vozinha’s performances earned him a place in FIFA’s fan-selected World Cup Dream Team, while his profile also soared globally during the tournament.
His social media following reportedly increased from fewer than 50,000 before the World Cup to almost 29 million during the competition.
Vozinha entered the tournament as a free agent after leaving Portuguese second-tier club Chaves before the World Cup.
Mosa said the goalkeeper’s World Cup performances earned him the move while acknowledging that his arrival could also boost Colo Colo’s commercial appeal.
The move represents a major career opportunity for Vozinha, whose World Cup performances brought international attention to both his career and Cape Verde’s historic campaign.
Cape Verde qualified for the World Cup for the first time and made an immediate impact by holding Spain to a goalless draw before taking Argentina to extra time in the knockout stage.
Vozinha will now look to continue his career in Chile after a World Cup campaign that significantly raised his international profile.
