Carabao Cup: Arsenal face Palace, Chelsea travel to Cardiff in last eight

Arsenal have been drawn against Crystal Palace and Chelsea are to face Cardiff in a mouthwatering Carabao Cup quarter-final tie in a last-eight line-up confirmed on Wednesday.

The draw, held live on Sky Sports Main Event following Newcastle United’s 2–0 victory over Tottenham Hotspur, also handed Premier League champions Manchester City a home clash against Brentford, while Chelsea travel to Cardiff City.

Defending champions Newcastle United will host Fulham at St James’ Park.

The quarter-final fixtures are scheduled for the week commencing December 15, with Arsenal’s clash against Palace promising fireworks after the Eagles’ stunning 3–0 win over Liverpool in Round Four.

Newcastle continue their title defence, while City and Chelsea both eye a return to Wembley as the competition heats up.

The quarter-finalists all advanced after an eventful Round Four that saw Arsenal beat Brighton 2–0, Crystal Palace stun Liverpool 3–0 at Anfield, Chelsea edge Wolves 4–3, Manchester City rally to defeat Swansea 3–1, and Newcastle United overcome Tottenham 2–0.
