Carrick: Pogba has a future at Manchester United

Michael Carrick has insisted that it would be wrong to write off Paul Pogba’s Manchester United career as the best is yet to come from the French midfielder.

Pogba has struggled to justify his £89m price tag since rejoining United from Juventus two years ago, finding himself in and out of the side towards the end of the 2017-18 season.

Having admitted earlier this week that his future may lie away from Old Trafford, the 25-year-old has since been linked with a sooner-than-expected return to Juve.

United coach Carrick expects Pogba to stay for the long-term, however, telling Sky Sports News: “Of course he’s got a future, he’s a big player for us, he’s a great age, he’s got his peak years ahead of him. It’s not even something I’d give a second thought to, to be honest.”

Pogba ended the season with six goals and 12 assists from 37 appearances in all competitions.
