Champions League round-up: Borussia Dortmund go top of Group F with 1-0 win over Sporting Lisbon

PLUS: Juventus were held by Lyon in Turin, Sevilla thumped Dinamo Zagreb, Monaco cruised to victory over CSKA Moscow and Porto beat Club Brugge

Borussia Dortmund leapfrogged Real Madrid to go top of Group F with a 1-0 victory over Sporting Lisbon at the Westfalenstadion.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang took the pre-match headlines by being suspended for the match by Thomas Tuchel for ‘internal’ matters, but the Bundesliga outfit took advantage of Real’s 3-3 draw in Warsaw to reach the group’s summit.

The only goal came from Adrian Ramos in the 12th minute, heading home a right-wing cross from six yards.

Elsewhere, there were also significant results in Group H, where Italian giants Juventus were held to a 1-1 draw by Lyon in Turin.

Gonzalo Higuain gave the hosts a 13th-minute lead from the penalty spot, but Corentin Tolisso earned a point for the Ligue 1 side with six minutes remaining.

That allowed Sevilla to pull two points clear at the top of the group, who thumped 10-man Dinamo Zagreb thanks to strikes from Luciano Vietto, Sergio Escudero, Steven N’Zonzi and Wissam Ben Yedder.

Monaco are well set in Group E after their 3-0 win over CSKA Moscow.

A brace from former Manchester United and Chelsea striker Radamel Falcao added to Valere Germain’s opener to leave Leonardo Jardim’s side two points clear at the top and four points clear of Spurs in third.

Porto hold the second qualifying spot in Group G, three points behind Leicester and two clear of FC Copenhagen, after a 1-0 win over Club Brugge thanks to Tomas Pina’s first-half own goal.

  • Monaco 3-0 CSKA Moscow

  • Legia Warsaw 3-3 Real Madrid
