CHAN Eagles can win W-Cup ―Ezenwa

Captain of the Home-Based Super Eagles, Ikechukwu Ezenwa is confident that a positive outing from the members of the CHAN-bound Super Eagles could earn them a place in at the Russia World Cup.

The Eagles’ current number one, who spoke to thenff.com, said it’s an opportunity he and his teammates must grab with both hands.

“I think any player that does very well in Morocco will make the World Cup because Coach Rohr would be at the tournament to watch us, just like he was with us in Ghana where some players who did well were invited for the game against Zambia.

“So, I strongly believe anyone who proves himself well will definitely get a look at but the most important thing for us right now is to go to Morocco and do the nation proud by winning the trophy,” Ezenwa said.

The Enyimba of Aba shot-stopper also posited that the team is fully prepared ahead of the tournament in Morocco and will strive to make the nation proud.

“Preparations have been going on well and we have been playing some friendly games. I must say it has been a good preparation all round.

“The camping here in Nigeria is coming to an end and we are in good shape to continue the next phase of preparation in Morocco,” Ezenwa concluded.

The Home-Based Eagles are expected to depart the shores of Nigeria January 4 to Morocco, where they will continue their preparations before heading to Tangier where they will face Rwanda in their opening game on the 15th of January.
