Akwa United midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi is set to be one of the changes coach Salisu Yusuf will make in his starting XI for today’s important CHAN Group C clash against Libya.
After a scoreless draw against Rwanda on Monday night, the home-based Eagles have all to do against group leaders Libya, who were comfortable 3-0 winners over debutants Equatorial Guinea on the opening day of action.
A top official told SCORENigeria: “It’s very likely Ifeanyi Ifeanyi will be one of the players to give way against Libya.
“He has struggled for form and Austin Oladapo, who replaced him against Rwanda, was far more convincing.”
Incidentally, ex-Flying Eagles midfielder Ifeanyi Ifeanyi has been involved with the main Super Eagles.
Plateau United left back Daniel Itodo could be another player to lose his starter’s shirt today.
Yusuf might opt to introduce Ibrahim Mustapha in place of Anthony Okpotu – who had a stinker of a game against Rwanda – from the start.
The Enyimba forward almost scored with his first touch on the night after coming on from the bench, and displayed good centre forward play with the ball at his feet.
The Eagles’ are aware that created chances may be few against the Libya team, and even when they do breach the defence line, experienced goalkeeper Muhammad Nashnoush is quite a difficult customer to beat, therefore, they need to make every shot count.Yusuf might opt to introduce Ibrahim Mustapha in place of Anthony Okpotu – who had a stinker of a game against Rwanda – from the start.
