Chelsea 3:0 Luton Town: Raheem Sterling double helps blues to first league win

Chelsea defeated Luton Town at Stamford Bridge thanks to goals from Nicolas Jackson and Raheem Sterling, giving them their first Premier League victory under new manager Mauricio Pochettino.

In the 17th minute, Sterling, who has had a strong start to the season, scooped up the ball wide on the right and maneuvered past three defenders before shooting into the bottom corner.

The England winger then doubled Chelsea’s lead in the 67th minute when he scored from close range from a Malo Gusto cross.

Chelsea’s third goal was assisted once more by Sterling, who sent a low ball into the box for Jackson to score his first club goal.

Luton, who has yet to record a point since being promoted from the Championship, gave Chelsea problems throughout the game, but the strength of the Blues allowed them to win all three.

Chelsea, who gave Moises Caicedo, their £100 million transfer, a full debut, will be pleased with the victory, but Pochettino will be aware that his team needs a lot of improvement since they were far from their best.
