Chelsea’s Mikel leads Super Eagles’ training in Abuja

The midfielder led 20 players as Gernot Rohr’s men commenced preparations for Sunday’s qualifier against Chipolopolo

Nigeria senior national team on Tuesday morning commenced training for Sunday’s 2018 Fifa World Cup qualifier against Zambia.

Victory for Gernot Rohr’s men at the Levy Mwanawasa Stadium in Ndola, while put them in good stead to qualify for Russia in the group that parades Algeria and Cameroon.

Aside John Obi Mikel, other notable players who took part in the training session include, Carl Ikeme, Kelechi Iheanacho, Alex Iwobi, William Troost-Ekong, Ogenyi Onazi, Musa Muhammed, Elderson Echiejile, Bobby Clement and Emmanuel Daniel.

Leicester City’s Ahmed Musa, Godwin Obaje and Brown Ideye – who landed in Abuja on Monday evening are yet to join the squad.
