City agree a deal with Mendy

The left-back is said to have already agreed terms with City after informing current club Monaco of his desire to leave this summer.

The French international was a key part of the Monaco team last season as the club won their domestic league and reached the semi-finals of the Champions League, playing 39 times in all competitions.

However, he looks set to become the second player to leave the Monegasque side for Manchester this summer, following Portuguese winger Bernardo Silva’s switch.

Mendy impressed City boss Pep Guardiola as the French side knocked City out of the Champions League last season and now looks set to become City’s latest recruit in what looks like it will be a busy summer for the club.

Reports claim that Manchester City have already agreed terms with the player, with a four-year contract and a €6m a salary mentioned in the English press.

Monaco were loath to let another of their players leave this summer, with Kylian Mbappe and Fabinho also being expected to leave and complete a veritable exodus from the club this summer. However, it is understood that City’s latest offer of around €46m has caused them to re-think their stance.
