The stricken boy woke up as the former Manchester United star completed an amazing hat-trick to book Portugal’s place at Brazil 2014
CRISTIANO RONALDO has met up with a child super-fan who woke from a three-month coma at the exact moment he heard the Real Madrid hero score his third goal for Portugal against Sweden in their World Cup play-off.
David Pawlaczyc suffered a serious brain injury in 2013 while riding his bike and after 12 weeks without improvement he was moved to a specialist clinic that recommended the huge Ronaldo fan be tuned into Galacticos and Portugal games in a bid to stir him.
Then, on November 19, as the former Manchester United star completed an amazing hat-trick to book Portugal’s place at Brazil 2014 – in a game billed as Ronaldo vs Zlatan Ibrahimovic who could only manage a brace – the teenager miraculously awoke.
In April 2014 Ronaldo invited Pawlaczyc to Madrid as his special guest to watch a Champions League match against Borussia Dortmund.
And this week – with Real facing Legia Warsaw in the Champions League on Wednesday night – Pawlaczyc drove six hours to meet his favourite player on Tuesday.
The youngster was pictured getting a hug from his hero and getting some souvenirs signed by the icon.
