The Authorities of the Nigeria National League (NNL) known as Bet9ja have banised Crown Football Club of Ogbomoso to the MKO Abiola Stadium, Abeokuta for their remaining league matches.
The league authorities also imposed fine of N4million on the Ogbomoso team over crowd trouble at the Soun Stadium, Ogbomoso on match day 29, when the team hosted Abia Comets in a NNL game.
It will be recalled that some fans of the team began to attack the club management members and other stakeholders as soon the match ended goalless.
The NNL consequently banished the team to Abeokuta with a fine of N4million.
The sum of N2 million for beating match officials and the away team, while N1,500,000 as compensatios to match officials on items damaged as well as for two camera of Abia Comets destroyed.
Also, N500,000 serves as medical bills for match officials, Abia Comets players and officials assaulted.
With the decision, Crown FC who will play their remaining NNL home matches in Abeokuta have 48hours to appeal the decision of the NNL.
Furthermore, the Team Manager of Crown FC, Mr Adetunde Adewunmi and their Physio, Alabi Jonathan are suspended indefinitely from all NNL activities, both are also appear before the NNL Comliance Unit on Wednesday, September 27, 2017.
NNL also rules that the Soun Township Stadium will not host any NNL game for the next two years.
Speaking with Tribunesport, Crown FC media officer, Kunle Oyeleye said they were yet to react to the NNL decision as they were still studying the matter.
“For now, we are still studying the decision and we will let our position known in due course because we have a crucial match this weekend against UNICEM Rovers in Calabar in a match day 30 fixture,” Oyeleye said.
Meanwhile, he said the management of the team has begun a frantic move to apprehend those behind the uproar at the stadium last weekend.
He added that General Manager of Crown FC, Rollandson Odeh, was among the officials who were harassed by the hoodlums and it took the intervention of the security personnel on the ground to douse the tension at the Stadium.
Investigation by the police that would lead to the arrest of the hoodlums has earnestly begun, just as the combined operatives at the Divisional Police Station, Owode, Ogbomoso, have swung into action to forestall a reccurence at the stadium.
