President, Nigeria Judo Federation (NJF), Dr Musa Oshodi, has expressed optimism that judokas representing Nigeria at the Commonwealth Games, Birmingham 2022 are ready to make the country proud.
Speaking with Sportingtribune in Birmingham, Oshodi said the judokas who made the team were worthy, adding every athlete in the team was selected on merit.
“Our primary goal under my watch is to return Nigerian judo to the global reckoning, Africa’s leading or model team..We have medal hopeful among the judokas and don’t forget it has been a very long time Nigeria participated at international judo and we are here to make a statement,” Oshodi told Sportingtribune.

“We are planning to attend as many international championships as possible and also this year, we are proposing to attend two African Open Championships and World championships and we can only achieve these desires if we have a solid economic base.
“Therefore, we will like to use this medium to call on well-meaning individuals and corporate organisations to come to our aid. We have well-groomed judokas who can rule the judo world in no time.”
