Dalung, Ajimobi for Oyo SWAN Sports summit

The Minister of Youths and Sports, Mr Solomon Dalung and the Oyo State governor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi are expected at the maiden Oyo SWAN Sports Summit scheduled to hold on November 30 at the Wallan Hall 2, D ’Rovans Hotel, Ibadan.

Others expected at the summit aimed at repositioning the state of sports in the state are the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Honourable Gbenga Adeyemi, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Barrister Yomi Oke, the chairman, House Committee on Sports, Honourable Niyi Adesina, Chief Taiwo Ogunjobi, Chief Adegboye Onigbinde, among others.

According to the chairman, Sports Committee of Oyo SWAN, Mr Samson Akindele, the News Editor of Fresh FM, Mr Gboyega Makinde, the acting General Manager, Oyo State Sports Council will talk on sports in the state, while Mr Steve Akadiri, a renowned insurance and sports marketing guru will talk on sports marketing and its benefit to the growth and development of sports in thestate.

This summit, Akindele said will not only help in reshaping sports in the state, but will put Oyo State on the international map.

Meanwhile, chairman, Oyo SWAN, Mr Niyi Alebiosu, assuring of a well organised event, says the summit will involve all major stakeholders in the state like coaches, association secretaries, athletes, former footballers, 3SC management, Crown FC management, supporters and corporate bodies.

“This is to bring everyone together, to X-ray the problems facing sports and find solutions to them with the sole aim of presenting a communique which will be presented to the appropriate quarters,” the SWAN chairman said.
