David De Gea
A poll conducted by France Football magazine has declared Manchester United star David De Gea to be only the seventh best goalkeeper in the world.
De Gea was acclaimed by many to be the finest keeper on the planet after he made 14 saves in United’s 3-1 win away at Arsenal on Saturday.
But France Football’s poll has him lower than two Premier League rivals, Thibaut Courtois and Hugo Lloris, as well as other luminaries from the goalkeeping world.
France Football compiled the vote with the assistance of former keepers Santiago Canizares, Lionel Letizi, Sepp Maier, Mark Schwarzer and Francesco Toldo.
All five voted for Bayern Munich’s Manuel Neuer as the best in the world, and he was followed in the overall list by Gianluigi Buffon, Courtois, Lloris, Jan Oblak and Keylor Navas.
That left De Gea, followed by Marc-Andre ter Stegen of Barcelona and Samir Handanovic of inter Milan.
