Desire Oparanozie propels Guingamp to victory

The Nigerian dazzled with her goal and assists as her French women top-flight outfit returned to winning ways after a massive home win against Marseille

Desire Oparanozie scored the opener and made two brilliant assists as Guingamp defeated Marseille 4-0 in a French Women top flight game at the Stade Fred Aubert on Sunday.

The 22-year-old netted in the 22nd minute before assisting captain Salma Amani twice to grab a hat-trick to ensure coach Sarah M’Barek’s side returned to winning ways.

The impressive Super Falcons star who lasted for the entire duration of the game got her fifth goal of the season in seven appearances but her fellow compatriot Evelyn Nwabouku was an unused substitute.

Oparanozie grabbed the lead for the hosts after heading home a corner kick from Faustina Roberts before setting up Amani to make it 2-0 in the 32nd minute.

The victory returns the Saint-Brieuc based outfit to the fifth position with 10 points from seven games in the Feminine division one – 11 points away from leaders Olympique Lyonnais.
