Former Chelsea star Didier Drogba has claimed that if Jose Mourinho was in charge of Manchester City, he would have won the title “maybe two or three times.”
Mourinho has been criticised at times over the past 12 months by fans and pundits.
There have been some pretty embarrassing losses this season too, with Mourinho’s men drawing with Wolves, losing to Derby and falling to defeat against West Ham in a pretty convincing loss.
Though, there has been a slight upturn in form of late.
Now, Didier Drogba has been speaking about his former boss.
“You get criticism because you set a standard of winning, winning and winning and now you’re not winning or having the same results”
The former Chelsea man has claimed that if Mourinho was in charge of City, he would have won the league “maybe two or three times” by now.
He also claimed that because he has won so much in the past, he gets criticism now.
“I think if you put him at Manchester City, he would have won the league twice, maybe two or three times,” Drogba explained, as quoted by The Daily Mirror.

“Being manager after Sir Alex Ferguson is not easy and the finances that they had then are not the same as what they have now.
“People only pay attention to the best and he’s one of the best and that’s why he gets all of this.
“I think he’s taking the challenge, because it’s a big challenge and if people criticise you then how can you enjoy it? It’s tough.
“After all, he’s human.
“He’s trying to change his approach and that’s what the best managers do and when things are not working you try to change it.”
