Nigeria’s D’Tigress on Sunday qualified for the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup after defeated Mali 74-69.
D’Tigress will be among the teams expected to feature at FIBA Women’s World Cup scheduled to be held in Australia later this year.
Meanwhile, Sports Minister Sunday Dare in a chat with Sportingtribune shortly after the qualification commended the team for securing the tickets and assured them of the federal government support at the World Cup proper.

An elated Dare said “We are very proud of you as our ambassadors and your effort was greatly appreciated. I can assure you that the ministry will all within its power to support your dream of doing well at the World Cup and I will employ you to go out there to make the country proud. I’m optimistic that you can do it as it will be a great joy for us as a nation seeing you lifting the World Cup trophy in Sydney later in the year,” he said.
