The Atlas Lions of Morocco are being considered to replace reigning South American champions Chile as the Super Eagles opponents in their final World Cup warm-up on June 9 in Austria.
The NFF have announced Chile were all but confirmed for the final friendly, but it appears that has not according to plan and they are now in discussions with Morocco, who were impressive in qualifying for the World Cup.
Nigeria are shopping for a South American team to prepare for Russia 2018 as they face Argentina in the first round of the tournament and Chile would have fitted the bill even though they sensationally failed to qualify for the World Cup.
The NFF have already confirmed World Cup warm-up games against DR Congo, Poland, Czech Republic, Serbia and England.
They are drawn against Argentina, Croatia and Iceland in the first round of the World Cup.
