Nigeria’s head coach, Gernot Rohr, believes the Chipolopolo of Zambia will cause the Eagles a lot of problems when both sides clash in a FIFA 2018 World Cup qualifier in Uyo this weekend but added that the Nigerian team has no cause for alarm.
Talking with the media in Abuja, Rohr said the Zambians have a psychological boost after posting home and away wins over Algeria in their last two games but the Eagles are still hot from the win over Cameroon in Uyo last September 1.
‘We know we have a stable home, where we are much confident. If you look at it, we did well the last time we played in Uyo. We defeated the African champions Cameroon by 4-0, so we are in the mood to claim another big win,’’ said Rohr.
The Franco-German trainer added that the only trouble the Eagles could have is to write off the Zambians.
‘’We need to prepare hard and avoid complacency. We need to look at the table and see where a win can take us and where a win for the Zambians will count, this is football, we see many strange things but we are confident.’’
Rohr further ecxplained that there could be fresh invitees but he needed to stick with those who played against Cameroon to maintain stability.
In England, it is said:’you don’t change a winning squad’ That is what we are doing. We may bring in new faces very soon after’’
