How Eagles will beat Cameroon —Rohr

PHYSICALITY underlined the choice of players invited for the Nigeria-Cameroon World Cup qualifier holding today, according to Coach Gernot Rohr.

The Super Eagles host the Indomitable Lions at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium and to be able to withstand the Cameroonian players’ physical strength, relatively big players had to be invited.

“We are going to be physical with Cameroon and we have strong and capable players to match their physical style and we hope to be victorious at the end of the day,” he assured.

With the calibre of players in camp, Rohr is optimistic that the team has sufficient depth and experience to overcome the Lions’ challenge.

“We have the experienced players in the team and I think we will win this one,” he assured, even as he recalled that the team lost the last Nations Cup qualifier in Uyo to the Bafana Bafana of South Africa because of the presence of young and inexperienced players in the squad.

He rated the Lions high as the champions of the continent but noted that the team has not been winning games since the Nations Cup triumph, saying the Eagles would cash in on such low morale to cage them today.

He enjoined fans and supporters to troop to the stadium to ensure the Super Eagles get the right motivation and attitude to win the game billed for 5.00 pm at the ‘Nest of Champions’, which has since been put in good shape for the high profile match.
