UEFA have announced that a minute’s silence will be observed at European cup games this week, in memory of Emiliano Sala,
Sala died when the plane bringing him from France to the UK crashed over the English channel last month.
The 28-year-old and pilot David Ibbotosn had been the only passengers in the crash on January 21.
Sala’s body was recovered following a privately funded search on February 7.

A post-mortem was carried yesterday and it found that Sala, who had signed for Cardiff City in January, died from ‘head and trunk’ injuries.
UEFA confirmed that in every Champions League and Europa League game this week, a minute’s silence will be observed in memory of Emiliano Sala.
UEFA President Aleksander ÄŒeferin said in a statement: “On behalf of everyone at UEFA, I would like to express my sincerest condolences to the family and loved ones of Emiliano Sala for their loss.
I am deeply saddened that his life was so cruelly taken away at such a young age and I urge supporters across the continent to pay their respects to his memory over the coming days.
Ibbotson is still missing after the plane crash and his wife and daughter have said they will never give up hope of finding him.
A fundraising campaign to restart the search for the pilot has so far raised over £174,000 (€198,000).

A £27,000 (€31,000) donation under the name Elie Lottin, apparently made by France’s World Cup-winning footballer Kylian Sanmi Mbappe Lottin, is also registered.
The Champions League round of 16 kicks off this evening with Man United welcoming PSG and Roman taking on Porto.
