End-of-year tournaments light up activities at Ibadan Golf Club

As the year comes to a close, several notable golf tournaments will take place at the Ibadan Golf Club (IGC) Onireke, Ibadan.

Some of the tournaments include the Oluyole Festival Golf Tournament scheduled for December 7, followed by a Christmas Carol on December 18.

The Golden Category Kitty for players between ages 50-59 will take place on December 19, while the 9th Seyi Makinde Women Support Pro-Invitational and Amateur Open Golf Championship is scheduled between December 20-22.

Also, the IGC Single and Double Match Play Championship final will hold on December 28 to round off the golfing calendar at IGC.

According to the Captain of the Club, Mr Seyi Alaba, these tournaments provide a mix of professional competition and festive spirit, making them a great way to conclude the golfing year.

The golf captain’s statement highlights the competitive spirit that often emerges during end-of-year tournaments.

“As the season wraps up, many golfers are eager to showcase their skills and improve their standings.

“These tournaments can serve as a culmination of the hard work and dedication put in throughout the year, motivating players to perform at their best.

“Additionally, the stakes may feel higher, with players aiming for handicap improvements and team accolades, These tournaments can lead to exciting performances and memorable moments on the golf course,” the statement read.

Alaba also thanked all members and the executive committee of the club for their support, commitment and contributions towards the development of the Ibadan Golf Club.
