Luis Enrique, the coach of Paris Saint-Germain, attributed his team’s 2-1 loss to Bayern Munich in the Champions League to “big gifts” given to the German side.
He stated that in the first half, Luis Diaz scored two goals for Bayern before being sent off for a reckless tackle on Achraf Hakimi, who was substituted before halftime due to injury, joining Ousmane Dembélé, who had already left the pitch injured.
“We’ll have to wait until tomorrow after the tests.
“Ousmane’s injury has nothing to do with the previous one. It’s football — a contact sport.
“It’s unlucky because it’s complicated for the player, but these things happen, just like it happened to (Bayern’s) Jamal Musiala (against PSG at the Club World Cup last July),” Luis Enrique told a news conference.
PSG has been plagued by injuries this season, with Ousmane Dembélé, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, João Neves, and Fabián Ruiz all sidelined.
However, Luis Enrique acknowledged the need to manage his squad more effectively but emphasised that the loss wasn’t due to fitness issues.
In addition, Bayern leads the Champions League table with 12 points, while PSG sits third, three points behind.
