EPL preview: Predictions for matchday 31 fixtures

With the title race tightening and the battle for European places taking shape, Matchday 31 presents another round of defining fixtures in the English Premier League.

Teams are beginning to feel the weight of the season. For some, it is about maintaining momentum; for others, it is about survival and late pushes up the table.

Sporting Tribune predicts the outcome of the weekend games based on recent form and league position.

Bournemouth vs Manchester United (Friday)

Manchester United have found some stability in recent weeks, especially in attack. Their ability to convert chances has improved.

Bournemouth remain inconsistent and often struggle against teams with strong forward options.

Prediction: Bournemouth 1 – 2 Manchester United

Brighton vs Liverpool (Saturday)

Brighton are disciplined at home and usually control possession well.

Liverpool, however, carry more attacking threat and have shown they can win even when not at their best.

Prediction: Brighton 1 – 2 Liverpool

Fulham vs Burnley

Fulham have been steady and are difficult to break down at home.

Burnley continue to struggle, particularly in defence, and may find it hard to contain Fulham’s attack.

Prediction: Fulham 2 – 0 Burnley

Everton vs Chelsea

Everton will rely on physical play and home support, but their inconsistency remains a concern.

Chelsea are pushing for a European place and, despite mixed results, have more quality across the squad.

Prediction: Everton 1 – 2 Chelsea

Leeds United vs Brentford

Leeds are usually aggressive at home and create chances through quick transitions.

Brentford are organised but may find it difficult to cope with Leeds’ intensity.

Prediction: Leeds 2 – 1 Brentford

Newcastle vs Sunderland (Sunday)

This fixture carries edge and intensity. Newcastle have been more consistent and better structured.

Sunderland may compete physically, but could struggle to match Newcastle over 90 minutes.

Prediction: Newcastle 2 – 0 Sunderland

Aston Villa vs West Ham

Aston Villa have been strong at home and remain in the race for European qualification.

West Ham have shown resilience but lack consistency, especially away from home.

Prediction: Aston Villa 2 – 1 West Ham

Tottenham Hotspur vs Nottingham Forest

Tottenham need points to steady their position after a difficult run.

Nottingham Forest are fighting to stay clear of the relegation zone but have struggled defensively.

Prediction: Tottenham 2 – 0 Nottingham Forest

Manchester City vs Crystal Palace (Postponed)

This match will be played at a later date due to scheduling adjustments. Many fans believe it’s because of the Carabao Cup final between Manchester City vs Arsenal on Sunday, 22nd of March.
