FORMER Super Eagles goalkeeper, Greg Etafia, has joined South-African club, Cape Town All Stars on what could be described as a rescue mission after the club’s coach was fired having lost three matches in a row.
Etafia, is expected to be the goalkeeper trainer and also work as an assistant to former Moroka Swallows teammate, Patrick Mbedi at the South African second division club.
“It’s a new chapter in my life and I am happy to face this new challenge.” said Etafia, who joined Swallows in June 2002. Etafia’s first assignment will be on Friday afternoon against Santos, who will be led by his former coach at Swallows, Zeca Marques.
The former Plateau United star has a CAF C coaching license and last season was in charge of Swallows in the National First Division (NFD).
He was in charge for eight games, winning six, drawing one and losing one.
