Etebo’s coach expresses relegation fears

Las Palmas boss Paco Jemez says his side will be relegated if they do not improve quickly.

The Canary Islands club remain in the bottom three of La Liga following Saturday’s 0-0 draw at Leganes.

Jemez, who took charge of Las Palmas in December, felt his side lacked any attacking threat in their first game without Jonathan Viera, who has joined Chinese club Beijing Sinobo Guoan FC.

Las Palmas are only one point adrift of safety but Jemez believes they will go down if they do not make big improvements in their attacking play.

“With Viera, we created the same or less,” he told reporters after the match.

“I want to see a different type of football, with more feeling of danger. We forgot to look for our opponents’ goal.

“We don’t have any great talents, but we’re better than what we showed here. We did well at the back but failed to take the ball to their goal.

“If we attack like this, we’ll drop into the Segunda Division.”
