Henry Onyekuru
Everton are hoping a decent appearance for Henry Onyekuru will afford them the chance to field the Nigerian next season.
The English Premiership team signed Onyekuru from Belgian side, KAS Eupen, having caught the eye of Ronald Koeman. With Koeman sacked it has been impossible for the Nigerian winger to break into the Toffees main team, going on loan to Anderlecht of BeLgium and now at Galatasaray of Turkey
Everton believe that Onyekuru’s work permit issue could be solved if the player and his country do well at the 2019 Afcon in Egypt.
Marcel Brands, Everton’s Sporting Director, says the club is not blind to Onyekuru’s progress and will love to have the player full time next season.
It was Onyekuru’s goal in a 2-1 win that afforded Galatasaray the Turkish Super Lig title over city rivals Istanbul Basaksehir for the second season in a row on Sunday night, drawing Everton’s interest to the petite winger.

”Henry continues to impress”, Brands told the Boot Room.
” We have seen what he is able to do with Gala, we are happy that an Everton player has been able to make an impact not only in Gala but in the Super Lig. We hope he does well with Nigeria at the Africa Nations Cup so that he could secure the permit to play in this country”
Meanwhile, Galatasaray mean to extend Onyekuru’s loan by a season and are willing to pay £2 million.
”He is a popular player with our fans and he knows that his services are acknowledged,” club chairperson, Mustafa Cengiz told Hurriyet.
